On 23 November 2024, I had the opportunity to cover the very first edition of BâRun, a new winter road race held in Bevaix, at the heart of La Grande BĂŠroche. An event organised by the association Squadra Senza Parole, bringing together more than 250 participants in a sporty, warm and deeply human atmosphere.
As the eventâs photographer, I was able to capture the essence of the day: the runnersâ energy, the familiesâ pride, team spirit and the genuine emotions that make these gatherings so powerful.
đ A view from the course
From the moment the stands opened at 15:00, the atmosphere was already buzzing: excited children wearing their race numbers, motivated volunteers, spectators lining the village streetsâŚ
Through my lens, I watched BâRun come to life:
the schoolchildrenâs seriousness just before the start,
the teenagersâ determined expressions,
the smiles of the âSport pour Tousâ participants,
and the controlled effort of the adult runners crossing Bevaix at dusk.
Every race, every category brought its share of intense moments to capture on the fly.
đ A festive atmosphere⌠perfect for photography
Between races, the celebration continued: music, food, bars, impromptu conversations and bursts of laughter.
This closeness, this mix of sport and sociability, offered authentic scenes â exactly what I love capturing: simple moments full of stories.
đ An inspiring patron
The presence ofAriane Wilhem, a trail runner from Neuchâtel with an impressive record, added a special dimension to the event.
I photographed her interacting with participants, sharing advice, smiles and energy. Her presence motivated the runners⌠and made the photos even more powerful.
â¤ď¸ An event with meaning
What also makes BâRun unique is its commitment: part of the proceeds was donated to the association Moi Aussi, supporting the inclusion of people with trisomy 21.
Capturing an already emotional sporting event, knowing it also supports an important cause, adds further depth to the images.
đĽ See you in 2025
After such a successful first edition, BâRun will return on 22 November 2025 for an even more ambitious second edition.
This time, the event will carry the Special Olympics âUnifiedâ label, strengthening its commitment to inclusion.
And of course⌠I will be there to document this new adventure!
