TimFocus · Neuchâtel, Switzerland
Hi, I’m Tim.
Photographer, filmmaker, and curious about what matters to you.
Before the camera, there were workshops. And plenty to learn along the way.
Getting to know each other
I like to understand what I’m looking at.
Light, movement, a detail that went unnoticed. Photography makes me want to stop and look. I grew up in the Neuchâtel region and was already taking pictures with my iPad at 14. Through TimFocus, I now meet people from many different backgrounds.

The workshop helped shape my eye.
Before starting my business, I worked in precision micromechanics, specialising in bar turning on traditional machines. Reading a technical drawing, understanding a part and picturing its three-dimensional shape meant looking carefully and working accurately.
I kept the dexterity, patience and attention to small details. In photography, these help me take care with my settings and framing, and imagine other possibilities when a situation changes.
My path included CAAJ, the Arc Jurassien apprenticeship centre, the technical school in Le Locle and Incabloc.

An attentive eye

Different jobs, different people
Discovering unfamiliar working worlds.
During the Covid period and through temporary assignments, I discovered the Cressier refinery, Verre et Quartz Technique and Philip Morris. I also worked in watchmaking at Swatch Group, as well as in quality control and export, including at Boegli-Gravures in Marin.
I had to understand new ways of working, find my place and adapt. That curiosity still helps when I arrive at a business, an event or a first meeting with someone I’m photographing.
2023 · In the field with Pascal
Learning by working alongside someone.
In 2023, I accompanied Pascal from Studios Casagrande in Geneva throughout the year, joining projects and trips, including visits to England and Italy.
Preparation, setting up, light and unexpected changes: I discovered the work around the moment of taking a picture. It was another way to learn, through people and real situations.

Then I gave that idea a name.
In 2024, I also worked as a camera operator for MisterK25 and other content creators. At the end of 2024, I launched TimFocus with portrait sessions and event photography. In 2025, I expanded my services to weddings and property photography.
2026 · The story continues
New projects. New encounters.
Today, I move between portraits, events, weddings and places to photograph. B-RUN, Polymanga and Carnavallon are among the encounters that have shaped this journey.

Working together
We start with a conversation.
Before taking out the camera, I like to know what matters to you. If you don’t know what to do in front of the lens, we can start with something simple: walking, talking or moving. I’ll guide you without asking you to play a part.
I bring attention to detail, while leaving room for things we couldn’t plan. That is part of what I enjoy about meeting people and making pictures.

What brings you here?
A clear project or a first idea: you can simply tell me about it.
